50's Cocktail Party - Invitations

There was a proper etiquette to throwing a party in that era, which is part of what makes 50's style entertaining so appealing in light of today's last minute casual gatherings.

Invitations would be sent by mail to the guests who were then expected to RSVP the same way. None of our modern day call or text invites, a proper cocktail party had to be planned well in advance. One of the first tasks was sending out the invites to guests early enough to allow them time to RSVP.

But since the majority of women during the 1950s were full time housewives they had a lot more time to plan that cocktail party than some of us ladies of today. We can improvise a little here if needs be. A vintage style e-card will do just as nicely.

There are many vintage style invitations available online for which ever way you decide to go.
