Sound

"Music is the universal language of mankind."

~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Sound has a way of creating an atmosphere that sets the feeling and tone for every party or event.

Have your music playing early so when guests arrive they will feel welcomed - especially the early birds.  There’s nothing worse than walking into a party and hearing crickets!

Let your music choices set the mood - lively when appropriate and then quieter in the evening or when things are winding down. If you live in a close knit area be sure to be kind to your neighbors and turn the music down by 10pm.

Create a playlist that goes with the theme of the party. You can do this on your phone, computer or tablet using apps like Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, or YouTube. Plan a long enough playlist so you have music for the entire party.

Borrow CD's from friends or check your local library.

Jukebox Hero is an app that lets users choose to create their own jukebox or join someone else’s as a remote.

If you’re having an indoor/outdoor event, use Wi-Fi so you can set up speakers in both areas.

Or you can do it the old fashioned way by taking wired speakers into different rooms. Remember the extension cords and to disguise them with matte duct tape to match the floor!

If your budget allows, hire a DJ

Or a band

Mariachi band for fiesta.

A string quartet for an afternoon tea, a dinner party, or a more formal affair.

A Jazz band or Barbershop quartet for a 20's themed party.

A Renaissance band for a Renaissance/Medieval themed event.
