It's a good idea to have a life jacket, pool noodles, or floats.

And never leave kids unattended, even if it is 'just for a moment' to pop in the kitchen for refills. Have another adult take over.

Use plastic drink holders, bottles, containers. Glass and bare feet don't go together very well.

Have a few extra pool towels in case someone forgets to bring one.

Make sure the bathroom is accessible from the outside and the floors won't get slippery with wet feet.
